I managed to get out between rain showers today and do a field test of the DX 2700 Kv motor http://www.dx.com/p/a2212s-2700kv-outrunner-brushless-motor-45134#.VEWWlSJ4pKV, an alternative to the FP 2700 Kv motor http://www.focalprice.com/YO090X/A2212_2200KV_Outrunner_Brushless_Motor_for_Airplane.html .
More details on the DX motor in these two posts

So I am very pleased to report that all of my suspicions about it being the same motor were true after flying it today in my testbed RCP F18 V3. Same power, speed, pop and acceleration. Motor ran about the same temperature as the Focal Price motor, so another option for a nice peppy park jet motor for an inexpensive price. As I write this post, Focal Price is still out of stock of their motor and have been for almost two months now.
As already mentioned in the initial impressions post, you will need to provide your own bullet connectors and prop collet as the motor comes without bullet connectors and the prop saver prop collet it comes with is useless in a park jet application in my humble opinion.
Cheers,
Scott
